The award-winning reality series returns tonight, but this time, host Claudia Winkleman is inviting a group of celebrities to the beautiful castle in the Scottish Highlands to play this ultimate game of detection, backstabbing and trust, in the hope of winning up to £100,000 for their chosen charities.

You know the score, hidden amongst the celebs are The Traitors, whose job is to secretly murder their fellow players, without getting caught. It’s up to the other celebs, the Faithful, to try to detect the Traitors and banish them from the game before they become their next victim.

Joining Claudia in the castle are Alan Carr – Comedian, Cat Burns – Singer/Songwriter, Celia Imrie – Actor, Charlotte Church – Singer/Activist, Clare Balding – Broadcaster and Author, David Olusoga – Historian and Filmmaker, Joe Marler – Former England Rugby Player and Podcaster, Joe Wilkinson – Comedian, Jonathan Ross – Presenter, Kate Garraway – Broadcaster, Lucy Beaumont – Comedian, Mark Bonnar – Actor, Nick Mohammed – Actor and Comedian, Niko Omilana – Content Creator, Paloma Faith – Singer/Songwriter, Ruth Codd – Actor, Stephen Fry – Actor, Writer, Presenter, Tameka Empson – Actor and Comedian and Tom Daley – Olympian, Broadcaster and Entrepreneur.

Speaking ahead of the series launch, host Claudia Winkleman said, “I could barely breathe when I saw them all in the Highlands. I’m such a fan of every single one of them. The whole team was just in awe; it was hard not to scream, ‘You’re here!’ When I talked to Stephen Fry, I almost welled up as I told him, “This was my dream”. We’re incredibly lucky to have the cast that we have. Each one of them is tremendous. They’re incredibly smart and kind. They played the game beautifully and were fully engulfed in it. It was an extraordinary experience, and we’re so, so lucky that these nineteen said yes. It’s something we never take for granted and are so grateful for”.

Celia Imrie added, “I suppose, being an actor, you do spend your life pretending to be somebody else, so that’s quite an advantage. But it is also a horror, because you haven’t got a character to hide behind, and so it is the same as being on a chat show – you just have to be yourself, which is oddly quite a difficult thing to present without seeming affected or unreal. It is quite exposing to just be yourself”.

Alan Carr continued, “People have asked, would you like to be a Traitor? And the answer is, I don’t know. I’m fascinated to know how I would cope with it if I was. I’m not known for my poker face, but you’ve just got to adapt. I’m indecisive, and that’s the problem. But I think that’s probably good because I’d say it’s best to have an open mind. If I’m a Traitor, I’ll try to murder as many people as possible. If I’m a Faithful, I’ll try and catch those Traitors. Whichever side, I think you can’t help but get sucked in. It becomes your world, and that’s the part I’m quite looking forward to – the routine of it and just being fully immersed in it”.
