It’s that time of year again, so get out the bunting, line up the drinks and get ready to sing and dance like there’s no tomorrow with the Eurovision Song Contest 2025! The BBC is serving up a fiesta of Eurovision delights on TV, radio, and online to celebrate this annual party of diversity, music, togetherness, and fun.

In its 69th year, Eurovision is heading home, as the world’s greatest singing competition returns to Switzerland, hosts of the very first contest back in 1956. Eurovision will return to the land of cheese, chocolate and dramatic vistas as the Swiss once again welcome audiences from across the globe – and 37 competing countries – to the beautiful city of Basel to see who can follow in Nemo’s footsteps and be crowned the new Eurovision Song Contest 2025 champion.

Ahead of the Eurovision Grand Final (Saturday 17 May), where 26 countries will perform to be crowned the new Eurovision 2025 champion, there are two live Semi-Finals (Tuesday 13 May and Thursday 15th May) for Eurovision fans to review all 37 countries competing in the Eurovision Song Contest. The top ten countries from each Semi-Final will make it through to Saturday’s Grand Final. In Thursday’s Semi Final 2, viewers will also be treated to the first performance on the Eurovision stage by UK representatives, Remember Monday, singing their entry song ‘What The Hell Just Happened?’. UK audiences can also vote for their favourites in this Semi-Final.

As one of the Big Five countries (United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, France, Italy), the United Kingdom has a guaranteed place in Saturday’s Grand Final, but Remember Monday will still perform for Europe as part of Semi-Final 2. Switzerland is also guaranteed a place in the Grand Final due to being the hosts this year.

The Eurovision Song Contest Semi-Finals and Grand Final continue to be amongst the most popular Entertainment programmes on the BBC, with the Grand Final in 2024 reaching an average audience of 7.9 million people in the UK.

Eurovision is also one of the most popular Entertainment programmes for younger audiences on the BBC, with 1.3 million 16-34 year olds tuning in for the Grand Final last year.

This Eurovision will be the most accessible yet for our audiences, with live audio descriptions and live signings available on BBC iPlayer and the Red Button.

BBC Interim Director of Unscripted, Syeda Irtizaali, said: “The BBC is the home of Eurovision in the UK and 2025 is set to continue that trend as we celebrate the contest on all our platforms, from TV, radio and online. We have Scott Mills’ Radio 2 Breakfast show coming to audiences live every morning from the Eurovision host city, Basel, for a week; A show stopping exclusive performance from the UK’s act, Remember Monday, on The One Show; A Doctor Who x Eurovision crossover and a one-off special on BBC One and iPlayer, When Graham Met Remember Monday. We really are pulling out all the stops this year to surprise and delight audiences with all things Eurovision. So, get in the party mood as the BBC’s Eurovision content offering this year is not to be missed this May!”

On Saturday, 17 May, or Super Saturday, the BBC brings the nation together for a night of epic TV watching. Audiences can enjoy the crème de la crème of television, starting with a Eurovision special episode of Doctor Who (The Interstellar Song Contest), which will hit screens just before the Eurovision Grand Final itself. Whether you’re organising a Eurovision party with friends, or at home with the family, it is set to be a night to remember as the BBC brings people together to cheer on Remember Monday at the Eurovision 2025.

In this one-off special, Eurovision 2025: When Graham Met Remember Monday, Eurovision legend Graham Norton meets Remember Monday, the UK’s act for Eurovision 2025, for an in-depth, candid chat ahead of the biggest performance of their lives. With just days to go before this year’s contest begins in Basel, Switzerland, the voice of Eurovision himself, Graham Norton, gets all the gossip from the talented trio (Charlotte, Holly and Lauren) as they share the excitement, chaos, fun, and intensity that accompanies being chosen as the act to represent the UK at the 69th edition of Eurovision.

Since their announcement as the UK Eurovision act back in March with their song ‘What The Hell Just Happened?’, Remember Monday have taken to their jobs as UK Eurovision ambassadors with aplomb. In a bid to garner global support and legions of new fans across Europe and beyond ahead of the contest, the band have thrown themselves in to a whirlwind European press tour, performed live at pre-parties for Eurovision superfans, met some of their fellow competitors, sang on an Icelandic trawler and performed at the Swiss embassy – unique moments that can only happen in Eurovision world!

The girls chat candidly about their hopes and fears of singing live in front of millions worldwide, and they give viewers a glimpse behind the scenes of their Eurovision journey. The girls hint at the yet-to-be-revealed staging plans as an extra special treat for Eurovision fans.

With the countdown to Eurovision well and truly on, this special reveals the excitement and pressure felt by Remember Monday as they prepare to fly the flag for the United Kingdom on the world’s biggest stage.

Rock is represented by Måneskin and Lord. There’s Mahmood, who changed the game at Eurovision 2019 with his fresh and daring entry for Italy, performed in Tel Aviv, very nearly winning him the competition, and many people learned to play the flute after watching Emmelie de Forest win with Only Teardrops in Malmö. Who could forget the iconic Scooch in Helsinki, Flying The Flag for the UK in 2007 and Sam Ryder’s stellar Spaceman in Turin in 2022! But where will they and more all come in this listener-voted chart? Michelle will reveal all.

Voting procedure: The result of the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest will be determined by a combination of points from national juries and viewer votes in the participating countries, along with a separate rest of the world vote. Each national jury is made up of a group of five music professionals in that country.

After viewers have cast their votes, each national spokesperson from the 37 participating countries will present the points of their professional jury live to the world.

After the presentation of the scores from the juries, the televoting points from all participating countries will be combined, providing one score for each song. The hosts will then announce these televoting results, building towards a dramatic climax as the winner of Eurovision 2025 is announced.

BBC One and iPlayer – 8pm

Plus, don’t miss a whole host of Eurovision treats on BBC iPlayer from ABBA at the BBC to Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final 1974, introduced by Hannah Waddingham and The Big Eurovision Party.
