Casting has been announced for Karim Aїnouz’s Rosebush Pruning for MUBI


Callum Turner, Riley Keough, Jamie Bell, Lukas Gage, Tracy Letts, Elena Anaya, and Pamela Anderson join Elle Fanning in ROSEBUSH PRUNING, the newest feature film from Karim Aїnouz for MUBI, The Match Factory and The Apartment (a Fremantle company) with production now underway in Spain.


Karim Aïnouz is directing from a script written by Efthimis Filippou (Kinds of Kindness, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, The Lobster). Viola Fügen and Michael Weber are producing ROSEBUSH PRUNING for The Match Factory, who are also handling worldwide sales for the film. The adaptation rights have been acquired from Kavac Film, and Simone Gattoni of Kavac Film is producing. Annamaria Morelli produces for The Apartment (a Fremantle Company). Andreas Wentz and Juan Cano “Nono” from Surfilm are co-producing in Spain, and Rachel Dargavel for Crybaby is co-producing in the UK.MUBI is financing production with The Apartment (a Fremantle company), Metafilms, Anna Films and In Bloom. German Federal Film Board, Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and Medienboard and the BFI also funded the film.

Commenting on his upcoming feature, Aïnouz said: “I’m so excited to bring this audacious and delicious script to life, which challenges our notions of the traditional family and the patriarchy, with this brilliant ensemble of actors I have long admired.”

Further creatives involved in ROSEBUSH PRUNING include Hair and Make Up Designer Barbara Kreuzer (Land of Mine, I’m Your Man), Academy Award-nominated® Costume Designer Bina Daigeler (Tár, Mother Mary), Production Designer Rodrigo Martirena (Invisible Life, Verdict). Following multiple collaborations with Aïnouz, the Director of Photography is Hélène Louvart (Invisible Life, Firebrand, Motel Destino).
