MUBI, the global distributor, streaming service and production company, has unveiled the first set of stills for Andrew Haigh’s (All of Us Strangers) highly anticipated new feature film A Long Winter.
Starring Fred Hechinger (Gladiator II), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Fantastic Four: First Steps), Caitríona Balfe (Belfast), Kit Connor (Warfare), and D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai (Warfare). The film will be screened later this autumn at the New York Film Festival (New York Premiere) and the Toronto International Film Festival (Canadian Premiere).
Set in the mountains as autumn draws to a close and a family prepares for the long winter ahead, Haigh has adapted A Long Winter from Colm Tóibín’s acclaimed short story of the same name, and also stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, David Furr and Martin Freeman.
A Long Winter was shot on location in Alberta, Canada, with a creative team including cinematographer André Turpin (Mommy), production designer Emmanuel Fréchette (The North Water) and editor Jonathan Alberts (All of Us Strangers).

Tristan Goligher produces the film for The Bureau, Chad Oakes and Mike Frislev for Calgary-based Nomadic Pictures, and Michael Elliott. It was developed by MUBI and is co-financed by MUBI and Film4.
Andrew Haigh most recently directed the critically acclaimed All of Us Strangers, which received six BAFTA Award nominations, including Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay. The film won Best Picture and six other awards out of fourteen British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) nominations, including Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay for Haigh, and Best Supporting Actor for Paul Mescal. All of Us Strangers was also the recipient of four Gotham and three Independent Spirit Awards nominations. His previous feature credits include Lean on Pete, 45 Years and Weekend.
A Long Winter is coming soon to cinemas in the UK and Ireland.
