The Curzon Film Club is a brand-new way for audiences to explore the greatest cinema of all time at Curzon. Starting in June 2025, Curzon’s expert programming team will curate a series of thematic strands, including classic films and contemporary favourites, all year round.

From exploring the works of some of the greatest filmmakers of our time to platforming new voices in cinema and filmmakers, Curzon Film Club invites audiences to enjoy the best of cinema, both old and new, on the big screen. To kick off proceedings, Curzon will be launching three strands this summer. There’s Summer in the City, a deep dive into the sweltering urban cinema of Spike Lee, Wong Kar-wai and more; Complicit, a retrospective delving into the chilly brilliance of two-time Palme d’Or winner Michael Haneke; and Pride, a rainbow-hued celebration of LGBTQ+ cinema.

COMPLICIT: A MICHAEL HANEKE RETROSPECTIVE

Described by The Guardian‘s Peter Bradshaw as ‘extreme cinema without anaesthetic’, Michael Haneke’s often unnerving work explores alienation, violence and the disengagement of the bourgeoisie. The two-time Palme d’Or winner is a precise chronicler of social failings, and his confronting films force us to question our own upholding of the status quo.

SUMMER IN THE CITY

Go on a transporting journey through urban cinema with Curzon’s Summer in the City programme. On this international adventure, Curzon will stop off in New York to fight the power with Spike Lee, hold up a bank with Al Pacino, and haunt beaches with Harris Dickinson before jetting to Hong Kong for a sojourn with Wong Kar-wai and then returning to London for a beloved Ealing comedy.

PRIDE

This Pride month, Curzon will fly the rainbow flag for the best LGBTQ+ cinema. Curzon’s programme—with its mix of genres, directors, and themes—covers a breadth of queer experiences, from gender non-conforming children to the Black lesbian experience. Whether you want a ‘be gay, do crime‘ thriller or a tearjerking romance, there’s something for everyone.
