Away arrives on digital platforms January 18

AWAY is about a boy travelling across an island on a motorcycle; trying to escape a dark spirit and get back home. Along the way, he makes a series of connections with different animals reflecting on the possible ways he ended up on the island. In a part dream, part reality exploration of our common, universal needs to find a connection.

Director, writer, producer, animator and composer Gints Zilbalodis worked on the film for three and a half years; writing the story, creating the beautifully rich characters, and composing and recording the enchanting music to this stunning dialogue-free film. The result of which is a single-handed creation from Zilbalodis on a shoestring budget that took critics by storm; even gaining a 100% fresh rating on rotten tomatoes. While also winning the prestigious Contrechamp Award at Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2019.

Following on from its UK and Irish cinema release in August, AWAY is available to pre-order from Apple TV. And can also be purchased from Sky Store, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Rakuten and Sony from January 18th 2021.
